Our Menu

We enjoy cooking home produced and seasonal food. We change our menu weekly

 

· We grow our own vegetable and salad crops and have orchards of apple, pear and plum trees. The range of our produce is increasing all the time. We have planted an asparagus bed and are working on our soft fruit production.

· Our chickens provide us with delicious free range eggs.

· The menu is changed weekly to reflect the produce available. We enjoy sourcing and inventing new recipes for our customers to enjoy.

· Vegetarian options are always offered. Other special dietary requirements such as gluten free or dairy free are catered for.

· Our main dishes include Orchard Chicken, Springtime Salad, Mediterranean Vegetable Bake, Nurseryman’s Lunch and Asparagus Tart, We serve warming casseroles in winter, tasty salads in summer and much more besides!

· Our puddings include lemon swirls, Bakewell tart, fruit crumbles, fruit salads and we offer seasonal puddings each week.

· A two course meal with a drink typically costs around £12.00

· Our repertoire of cakes includes our famous lemon sponge, filled with homemade lemon curd and served with Greek yoghurt, apple and cinnamon cake (dairy free), rose geranium cake (gluten free), whole orange cake and chocolate brownies.

· Our scones are described by customers as ‘the best in Suffolk and ‘the best scones ever’.

· Our popular Orchard Room Tea is served from 3.00pm. It includes the tea of your choice, a selection of dainty sandwiches and homemade cakes and scones. If you  pre-book for The Orchard Room Tea, your table will be set with a pretty cloth and vintage china for when you arrive.

· We offer a wide selection of hot and cold drinks.

· Our coffee is blended and roasted in Newmarket.

· We serve a selection of teas including Darjeeling, Assam, Earl grey and decaffeinated tea. We also offer a wide selection of herbal infusions, some made from fresh herbs grown on the nursery.

· We use apples from the orchard to make apple juice. In the winter we offer it warm and spiced.

· We make our own lemonade which is refreshing in summer and delicious served warm with ginger in the cooler months of the year.

· We gather elderflowers from the hedgerows to make our own elderflower cordial (in season).

· We buy our meat and poultry from Rolfes of Walsham.

· Our ice cream is from Criterion Ices who make it in the village

· We are fully licensed, our wine list is expanding and includes East Anglian wines.
